Nissan and Italdesign have joined forces to create a special edition of the powerful GT-R coupe. It will be produced in only 50 copies. Two years ago, Nissan and Italdesign announced a collaboration to mark the 50th anniversary of the existence of both companies. The result was the Nissan GT-R50 concept by Italdesign.
The series version was to be launched at this year's Geneva Motor Show. As Geneva was cancelled due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic, Nissan and Italdesign presented their production model at an online event.
Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign uses the 3.8-liter V6 bi-turbo engine, but which has been upgraded by the Nismo division to develop 720 hp and 780 Nm of torque. Nissan has also modified the transmission and braking system to cope with the increased power. The suspension has also been optimized, and the 21-inch wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The price for a Nissan GT-R 50 by Italdesign is 990,000 euros, and deliveries will start at the end of this year. via gt-r50.nissan
